234 years ago yesterday, 56 men got together and decided that the status quo wasn’t good enough. They weren’t satisfied with how things were and refused to believe that their situation was impervious to change. They wanted something different so they decided to get together and write their own future. Then they wrote and signed the Declaration Of Independence.
Yesterday [and today] there are going to be lots of celebrations. There will be parades, cookouts, picnics, pool parties and lots more all celebrating the fact that that some guys wearing funny wigs signed that piece of paper a long time ago. But here’s the thing:
Signing that piece of paper didn’t make them free. They warred & fought for 7 years to earn that freedom. It’s not what they did in that room that made them free, it’s what they did when they left.
Hot dogs, marching bands & fireworks aside, the best way to celebrate your freedom is by being free. By not allowing anyone [including yourself] to create artificial rules, put you in a box, or tell you what you can’t do. So what are you waiting for?
- That one race you’ve always wanted to do? Go do it.
- That place you’ve wanted to visit? Start planning your trip.
- That job you always wished you could have? Start doing it & figure out a way to get paid for it.
Do something revolutionary. Why not? You’re free.
Happy 4th 5th of July

Nice man. A good reminder to take advantage of this amazing gift of freedom we have. It’s easy to take it for granted.

Definitely Nate!
I have to admit, I’m pretty jealous you’re going to be walking all over the states. You have quite an adventure ahead of you!
